This week, Alta Irrigation District (AID) will hold its first public hearing meeting regarding its redistricting process. This meeting will provide more information about the process and draft maps, as well as an opportunity for public comment and questions. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

 

Redistricting Public Hearing #1
Our first public hearing on redistricting will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 9:30 a.m. during the Alta Irrigation District Board of Director’s meeting:

• Join us in-person at: Alta Irrigation District Board Room, 289 N. L Street, Dinuba, CA 93618
• To join virtually, register online and a link will be sent to your email to join the meeting.
  • To join virtually for Public Hearing #2 on Thursday, March 10 at 9:30 a.m., register online at this website and a link will be sent to your email to join the meeting.
• View the draft maps before the meeting

Redistricting process
Every ten years, boundaries of all local governments that elect by district, including special districts like AID, are updated to reflect how populations have changed based on the most recent U.S. Census. In August 2021, the California State Legislature passed Senate Bill 594 to extend the deadline for final approval of a redistricting map for special districts to April 17, 2022.
