CHRIS M. KAPHEIM

General Manager of Alta Irrigation District in the Central San Joaquin Valley (1983 to present).  Alta Irrigation District encompasses 130,000 acres in Tulare, Fresno and Kings Counties. There are approximately 4000 farm parcels that may utilize surface water within the district.

Mr. Kapheim is active in water issues and is currently Chair of ACWA Region 6, Member of the ACWA Executive Committee, ACWA Legislative Committee and Member of the ACWA Board of Directors.  Mr. Kapheim is also on the Board of Directors of the Valley Ag Water Coalition and a member of the Tulare County Water Commission.

Mr. Kapheim received his BS in soil Science from California Polytechnic State University, S.L.O and a graduate of Class XXVI of the California Agricultural Leadership Program.  Mr. Kapheim is also a Certified Pest Control Advisor.
