Entities are signing water basin MOU
King River East Groundwater Sustainability Agency clearing early hurdle

Representatives met on Jan. 21 to discuss the latest progress in the group’s MOU with hopes to move forward in the upcoming months.
“The primary reason we met in January was that we wanted to focus on the MOU and how that translates to initiating a GSA because that’s coming up,” said Chris Kapheim, Alta Irrigation District general manager.
The agencies that are yet to sign include the city of Orange Cove and county of Fresno, which will decide at their February meetings, and Hills Valley and Tri-Valley water districts, which are pending board action........

PUBLIC NOTICE
Intent to adopt a 2015 Agricultural Water Management Plan to be in compliance with SB x7-7.
A draft 2015 Ag Water Management Plan can be reviewed at the Alta Irrigation District’s Main Office, located at 289 North L Street, Dinuba, CA, on Friday, October 30, 2015 and thereafter or by going to our website at www.altaid.org. Office Hours: (8:00am - 5:00pm) (Closed for lunch 12:00 pm - 1:00pm) Monday - Friday
Subject to public notice provision under Government Code 6066, a public hearing will be held at 9:30 a.m. on November 12, 2015 at 289 North L Street, Dinuba CA, to review the draft 2015 Agricultural Water Management Plan. Subsequent to the public hearing, the Alta Irrigation District Board of Directors at a public meeting will take the following action: adopt the plan as presented, amend the plan or not take action on the plan.

Board of Directors,
Fresno County, *Division 6, City of Reedley

The position to be filled is a 4-year term ending December 2019.
The seat will go to election in
November 2017 for the final two year term.

2015 Update

Due to the precedent setting dry water year, Alta Irrigation District will not be delivering surface water for agricultural purposes this summer. The driest April through July water runoff forecast on record was 1924, which for Alta Irrigation District was 24.2 percent of average.
Currently, the Kings River April through July water runoff forecast is from 8 to 11 percent of average. This will be the first time since Alta Irrigation District was formed in 1888 that there will be no surface water deliveries for agriculture.
